Overview
This release brings Address Validation to Power Automate, adds PostGrid as a new address provider, and gives Melissa Personator and Melissa Global administrators precise control over which results are saved. All address autocomplete controls now run on the same modern framework, licenses renew automatically, and several reliability issues have been fixed.
Changes are grouped first under General, followed by the affected Support API Type.
Highlights at a glance
Power Automate actions: validate addresses from Power Automate flows with Azure Maps, Google Maps Geocoding, Google Address Validation and PostGrid.
New provider - PostGrid: address autocomplete and verification for the United States, Canada and international addresses.
Melissa result codes: choose which Melissa result codes block an update, and see a clear verified / partially verified / not verified outcome.
Automatic license renewal: renewed or extended licenses are picked up automatically, with no lock-out on the old expiry date.
Faster, more consistent controls: Azure Maps, Google Maps, Canada Post and Melissa Express Entry now use a more modern PCF control framework (Virtual Controls).
General
Validate addresses from Power Automate
New Dataverse actions let Power Automate flows (and other Dataverse callers) validate an address with Azure Maps, Google Maps Geocoding, Google Address Validation and PostGrid. They return a standardized address, a confidence level and coordinates without changing any record, so your flow decides when to update the data. They use the standard Microsoft Dataverse connector, so no custom connector is needed. See Azure Maps, Google Maps Geocoding and Google Address Validation.
Automatic license renewal
When your subscription is renewed or extended, the new expiry date is now picked up automatically, starting three days before the current license expires. You no longer need to open the license record and select Update License to avoid an interruption.
If a license has already expired but was renewed, it recovers on its own the next time an address control loads.
This works for every user, including users who only have the SharpXRM - Address Validation User role.
Faster and more consistent address controls
The Google Maps, Canada Post and Melissa Express Entry autocomplete controls now run on the same modern framework as Azure Maps. They load faster and share the same reliable configuration, licensing and error handling.
The controls keep the same names and properties, so existing forms upgrade in place with no reconfiguration.
Forms and address selection are no longer slowed down when our usage-reporting service responds slowly.
More reliable configuration loading
If a form was opened before its API Configuration record existed, the control could keep showing "Configuration record was not found" for days, even after the record was created. The control now recovers as soon as the configuration is available.
Upgrading the solution automatically clears outdated cached settings, so users do not need to clear their browser cache.
New form experience (preview)
The Product Key and API Configuration forms include a new, modern layout on a preview tab. The existing tabs are unchanged and remain fully supported.
Azure Maps
New Power Automate action: Verify With Azure Maps (see above).
Fixed an issue where selecting a suggestion in the Azure Maps Geocoding Autocomplete control showed "Error loading control" and did not fill in the address.
Google Maps
The Google Maps autocomplete control moved to the modern framework: faster loading and more reliable error handling. All existing outputs are kept, including Postal Town, administrative areas and the eight Google Places outputs (business name, phone number, website, Google Maps URL and more). See Configure Google Autocomplete on Dataverse Forms.
New Power Automate actions:
Verify With Google Geocoding
Verify With Google Address Validation.
Canada Post
The Canada Post autocomplete control moved to the modern framework: faster loading and more reliable error handling.
Melissa Express Entry
The Express Entry autocomplete control moved to the modern framework: faster loading and more reliable error handling.
Fixed an issue where expanding a building with several units closed the suggestion list instead of showing the units.
Melissa Personator
Choose which results are saved: a new Melissa Blocking Result Codes setting on the Field Mapping lists the Melissa result codes that prevent the record from being updated. New Field Mappings are pre-filled with a recommended list that blocks addresses Melissa could not find, but still saves building-level data (county, ZIP+4, coordinates) when only the suite is wrong. Existing Field Mappings keep their current behavior until you change the setting.
Clear outcome for users: after a check, the form shows whether the address was verified, partially verified (with the result codes and what they mean) or not verified.
New Validation Status output (VERIFIED, PARTIAL, NOT_VERIFIED or SKIPPED) for workflows and Power Automate flows.
Better address formatting: Address Line 1 keeps directionals (for example N) and the suite. If you map a Unit Number column, the suite is written there instead. Empty values are no longer saved as a blank space.
Coordinates: latitude and longitude are requested automatically when they are mapped, and existing coordinates are never cleared.
Saves credits: Melissa is not called when the record has no street address and no postal code.
Fixed a script error when opening Personator Field Mappings, and an issue where the Personator Columns selection was cleared when the form loaded.
Melissa Global
Choose which results are saved: the Melissa Blocking Result Codes setting also applies to Melissa Global. Address, email, phone and name are evaluated separately, so a blocked address does not stop a verified email or phone from being saved.
Partially verified addresses are now reported as PARTIAL instead of verified, and the outcome is shown to the user after the check.
Coordinates are saved correctly to your latitude and longitude columns.
PostGrid (new)
PostGrid is now available as an address provider, as an add-on to your Address Validation license.
Autocomplete control for model-driven forms, covering the United States and Canada and international addresses. Suggestions shown while typing are free; one PostGrid lookup is used when the user selects an address.
Address verification from Power Automate and from classic workflows, with separate actions for US/Canada and international addresses. Results include a precise verification status and the missing components, for example a suite number.
PostGrid uses two keys: a public key for the autocomplete control and a secret key for verification. See Set up your PostGrid API Keys.
Upgrade notes
No form reconfiguration is required for the Google Maps, Canada Post or Melissa Express Entry control upgrades.
Action required if you use Display Address Fields: the autocomplete controls now display only the address search box. If a form relied on Display Address Fields = Yes, add the individual address columns to the form. The Configuration Cache Hours property is also no longer used; the cache is managed automatically.
Melissa Personator and Global: review the new Melissa Blocking Result Codes setting on your Field Mappings. Leaving it empty keeps the previous behavior.
Bing Maps: Bing Maps is deprecated because Microsoft has retired Bing Maps for Enterprise. Plan your move to another provider.
